Based near Hedge End, we are seeking an experienced Transport Assistant to support day-to-day transport delivery while maintaining strong customer relationships. This is a hands-on role combining operational coordination with customer ownership, working closely with planners, pallet network hubs, hauliers and yard teams to ensure safe, compliant and efficient transport execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support daily transport operations and collaborate with planners and customers.
  • Track loads and proactively manage delays or service risks.
  • Act as a key customer contact, providing updates and resolving queries.
  • Support KPI reporting and operational performance tracking.
  • Maintain accurate transport records and provide regular reporting on service levels, network performance and vehicle utilisation.
  • Conduct yard checks to ensure asset availability and safety standards.

What we’re looking for:

  • Ideally some experience in transport, logistics or traffic operations is desirable but not essential.
  • Understanding of the Pallet Network would be beneficial for this role.
  • Awareness of transport compliance and defect reporting.
  • Strong administration and IT skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
