Our client is seeking an experienced electrically biased maintenance engineer to lead a small engineering team within a busy manufacturing environment.
This hands-on role combines maintenance, fault finding, team leadership and continuous improvement activities to ensure plant reliability and minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support a small team of one mechanically biased and one newly qualified engineer.
- Manage and develop the Preventative Planned Maintenance (PPM) programme.
- Prioritise maintenance activities and coordinate engineering resources.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment performance.
- Support production teams with engineering solutions.
- Maintain compliance, documentation and safety standards.
- Assist with contractor management and site improvement projects.
Requirements
- Apprentice trained (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
- 17th or 18th Edition qualified.
- Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within manufacturing.
Experience with
- Three-phase and single-phase motors
- Electrical panel wiring
- PLC fault finding
- Inverters and control systems
- Conveyor systems
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- C&G 2391-52 Inspection & Testing.
- Experience within manufacturing, packaging or processing environments.
- Knowledge of labelling and printing equipment.
- Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience.
