Overview

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Counselling Lecturer to join a thriving Further Education College on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality teaching to Level 4 Counselling learners, supporting students to develop both theoretical understanding and practical counselling skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified counselling professional who is passionate about education and student success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Level 4 Counselling curriculum in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons and learning materials.
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
  • Track learner progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Support learners to achieve positive academic outcomes.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Attend relevant team meetings and standardisation activities where required.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant counselling qualification at Level 4 or above.
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, DET or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Previous experience delivering counselling or related subjects.
  • Strong understanding of counselling theories, ethics and professional practice.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Assessing/Internal Quality Assurance qualifications.
  • Membership of a recognised professional counselling body (e.g. BACP, NCPS).

Salary: £30 – £40/hour
