Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Counselling Lecturer to join a thriving Further Education College on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality teaching to Level 4 Counselling learners, supporting students to develop both theoretical understanding and practical counselling skills.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified counselling professional who is passionate about education and student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Level 4 Counselling curriculum in line with awarding body requirements.
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons and learning materials.
- Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
- Track learner progress and maintain accurate records.
- Support learners to achieve positive academic outcomes.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Attend relevant team meetings and standardisation activities where required.
Essential Requirements
- Relevant counselling qualification at Level 4 or above.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, DET or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
- Previous experience delivering counselling or related subjects.
- Strong understanding of counselling theories, ethics and professional practice.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Assessing/Internal Quality Assurance qualifications.
- Membership of a recognised professional counselling body (e.g. BACP, NCPS).
Salary: £30 – £40/hour
