The Role

We are looking for two experienced Mechanical Fitters to join a major energy infrastructure project at Dinorwig.

The successful candidates will work as part of a site team carrying out mechanical installation activities, reporting to the Site Supervisor or Chargehand.

Previous substation experience is essential, along with the relevant site tickets and National Grid experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical installation activities as directed by the Site Supervisor or Chargehand.
  • Work in accordance with site QEHS procedures, site rules and project requirements.
  • Complete allocated task cards within the required timescales.
  • Work to the standards and timescales set by the Work Party Leader.
  • Identify and highlight potential issues or delays in advance.
  • Follow all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
  • Assist with project documentation where required.
  • Work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout the project.
  • Carry out other duties within your competence as directed by site management.

Requirements

  • Apprentice trained, with City & Guilds or minimum NVQ Level 3 in an appropriate discipline, plus at least 1 year’s relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, industry-recognised training with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working as part of a team on an Electricity Supply Industry construction site or similar environment.
  • Previous substation experience is essential.
  • Experience within power generation, oil & gas, utilities or general construction environments is beneficial.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements.
  • Able to work effectively within a team and independently when required.

Qualifications

  • National Grid Person ticket is essential.
  • CSCS
  • Relevant Mechanical Fitter Qualification
  • Manual Handling.

Pay Rates- LTD / Umbrella

  • First 37 hours: £32.12 per hour
  • After 37 hours / first 4 hours Saturday: £33.87 per hour
  • After 4 hours Saturday / Sunday / Bank Holiday: £36.65 per hour

  • Two positions available.

  • Start as soon as possible.
  • Working weekend scheduled for 22nd-23rd August.
  • Outside IR35 for LTD.
  • Weekly timesheets.
