Supply Chain & Production Planner
Location: Brighouse
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm Friday: 7:30am – 1:30pm
The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented Supply Chain & Production Planner to join our client’s growing manufacturing business.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain & Production Planner to play a pivotal role in ensuring materials, resources and production capacity are aligned to meet customer demand while driving operational efficiency.
As Supply Chain & Production Planner, you will work across procurement, inventory management, logistics and production planning, collaborating closely with Production, Sales and Warehouse teams.
You will also have the opportunity to work with emerging AI-enabled planning tools, providing the practical manufacturing expertise needed to turn data-driven recommendations into effective operational plans.
- What You’ll Be Doing
- Supply Chain & Procurement
- Managing UK and European supplier relationships.
- Negotiating pricing and placing purchase orders.
- Monitoring supplier performance and resolving supply issues.
- Supporting supplier audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Inventory & Materials Planning
- Maintaining optimum stock levels for raw materials, packaging and finished goods.
- Forecasting material requirements using demand and inventory data.
- Managing ERP/MRP master data, lead times and planning parameters.
- Identifying slow-moving, excess or at-risk inventory.
- Production Planning
- Creating, validating and refining production plans.
- Balancing machine capacity, labour availability and material constraints.
- Assessing resource requirements and communicating operational risks.
- Re-planning efficiently in response to changing customer demands and operational challenges.
- Supporting the development and improvement of AI-driven planning systems.
- Logistics & Operations
- Coordinating inbound and outbound logistics activities.
- Managing subcontract coating processes including powder coating and hot-dip galvanising.
- Ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery performance.
About You
- Experience within supply chain, procurement, materials planning or production planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Practical experience balancing machine capacity and labour requirements.
- Strong purchasing and supplier management experience.
- Knowledge of inventory control and ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Confidence using Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- A continuous improvement mindset and commercial awareness.
