About the Position
You will play a key role in delivering engaging and effective English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping pupils develop strong reading, writing, and communication skills while achieving excellent academic outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and delivering creative and challenging English lessons
- Teaching English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4
- Supporting pupils in preparation for GCSE examinations
- Encouraging analytical thinking and a love of reading and writing
- Monitoring progress and setting clear, achievable targets
- Adapting teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs
- Establishing clear routines and maintaining positive behaviour
- Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development
- Working closely with colleagues, parents, and pastoral teams
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching English at secondary level
- ECTs encouraged to apply with relevant placements
- Strong knowledge of English Language and Literature
- Confident classroom presence and behaviour management skills
- A well-organised, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
- Available for a September start
