The Role...
The Assistant Bar Manager at Soho House is responsible for overseeing the beverage operation within the department, floor or property ensuring its overall success whilst also supporting the management team where needed. Main responsibilities include keeping on top of stock within the bar, providing leadership to the team which includes development and recruitment and ensuring the bar is run in an efficient manner resulting in members and guests having the best possible experience.
Main Duties...
- Manage staff in all aspects including, recruiting, training, schedules, payroll, staff complaints and disciplinary procedures.
- Assess staff performance, conduct appraisals, and strategize for improving staff performance.
- Organize staff meetings and agendas monthly.
- Receiving deliveries for stock and inventory as needed.
- Placing orders for inventory based on business needs and budgets.
- Maintains a safe, orderly and sanitized bar.
- Ensures menus are up-to-date and correct.
- Ensures all legal requirements are adhered to (I.e. Wage and Hour/Breaks, Health and Safety, etc.)
- Report bar stock shortage β (variables) glasses & equipment.
- Responsible for Mystery Shopper Reports and staff development.
- Actively participates as a member of the management team in decision making processes, attending required meetings, etc.
- Delegates work and determine beverage methods to staff throughout shift.
- Oversee daily/shift schedules; make any necessary changes per business need and budget.
- Ensure maximum revenue is achieved from all sales opportunities.
- Support House Tonic program and conduct House Tonic related trainings.
- Performs other duties as assigned by managers.
- To ensure cleanliness standards and procedures for the unit & their areas are in accordance with site, company and legal health and safety standards.
- Ensure all new starters are rigorously trained to standards and competencies.
What We Are Looking For...
- Up to 2-3 yearsβ experience in a busy cocktail bar in a senior management capacity.
- Innovator and influencer with previous experience managing F&B operations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships (internal and external).
- Strong attention to details.
- Excellent customer service.
- Fluent in English.
- Organised and reliable.
- Ability to work and maximize relationships within a diverse team.
- Computer literacy within Opera, Micros and Adaco advantageous.
- Full understanding of local authority requirements.
- Personal license holder.
- SIA knowledge, understanding and experience.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects by hand.
- Able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.

Varying shift times across the seven days, to include working evenings, weekends, opens & closes.
