Caterlink is the education sector catering specialist. We are looking for a Catering Assistant to work at Ore Village primary school.
Job Summary
- 12.5 hours per week, 11:00 - 13:30
- £12.71 per hour – pro rata across the year
- Assist the manager in preparing and serving food and maintaining a clean working environment.
- To be customer focused and approachable at all times.
- Previous experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
- We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children; all successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS application, provide 2 work references and have the right to work in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of delicious meals.
- Serve food to customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure food safety compliance.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during meal services.
- Assist with inventory management and restocking of supplies.
- Operate kitchen equipment and utensils safely and efficiently.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and special requests.
- Participate in setup and cleanup activities for catering events.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
Qualifications
- Passion for food service and customer satisfaction.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (training will be provided).
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist colleagues as needed.
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality is a plus, but not required.
