Job DescriptionWe are hiring for a Chef Manager at The Mill Academy, Crawley who wants to ensure our future generations are provided with nutritionally balanced and tasty food. This role is term‐time only and does not work weekends, making it a flexible option for those seeking such a schedule.
The Role
£13.15 per hour
30 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Term‐time only – 38 weeks per year
Your Key Responsibilities
Prepare, cook and present food to the standards required by Caterlink and the client
Ensure that the location complies with statutory and company requirements of Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislation and procedures
Maintain and enhance the company\’s reputation for excellent food and service, consistently exceeding expectations
Run the day‐to‐day operations of the location and supervise teams, including managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans
Serve as the main point of contact for our client, ensuring that regular adjustments and improvements are recommended and implemented
Communicate regularly with line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets and ensure achievement
Support and train teams, lead from the front to ensure training is completed and performance is managed
Qualifications / RequirementsRequires an enhanced DBS disclosure. Candidates must meet health and safety, food safety and environmental standards, and be capable of managing budgets and compliance.
