Main Duties of the Job

Working collaboratively with clinical and scientific staff, you will support the clinical radiotherapy service by safely repairing and maintaining clinical radiotherapy systems and technical infrastructure such as VMware, Citrix, Veeam, and Active Directory. You will support our 12 Elekta VersaHD linacs, 3 Philips Brilliance Big Bore CT Simulators, a Flexitron remote afterloading unit, Gamma Knife ICON, and MR simulator. You will use your knowledge and experience in managing medical devices to join multidisciplinary project teams, providing clinical computing infrastructure expertise in the implementation of new medical technologies to improve patient care.

What You Will Bring To The Role

  • Lead and participate in the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of clinical radiotherapy technologies, including pre‑treatment and treatment delivery systems and specialised clinical applications.
  • Maintain host systems, including server operating systems, hardware, virtualization (VMware), data storage technologies, backups, domain administration, and group policy.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Maintain detailed and timely records of work for medical equipment maintenance and fault resolution on computerised equipment.
  • Actively participate in training medical engineering apprentices and trainees in clinical computing and medical equipment management skills.
  • Develop and update processes relevant to your areas of expertise.
