To play a key role within our Amazon Supported Internship. To facilitate and support interns to be successful within their placement and develop the skills and knowledge needed to gain vital working experience to enable them to progress into meaningful employment.
Performance Responsibilities
- Facilitate the training and integration of Catch 22 students into various Amazon department rotations and/or competitive work environments.
- Provide individual training and support to the intern at the host business worksite or competitive job which includes skills training, building natural supports, identifying reasonable adjustments, assistive technology, etc.
- Communicate effectively with any other staff, co‑workers, family members, college and supported employment agency personnel as relates to the intern being trained.
- Perform specific department analysis, job analysis, task analysis, and job matching activities.
- Carry out steps of employment planning with intern and other parties as appropriate and attend individual employment planning meetings to know intern’s strengths, interests and challenges.
- Work with interns, employers, families, job development specialists, steering group partners and other appropriate parties to problem solve issues related to training and employment where necessary.
- Practice positive feedback techniques with interns, colleagues, and other staff.
- Train interns to the required standard in the areas of personal hygiene, communication, interviewing, and self‑management as they relate to successful employment at the host business.
- Provide travel training to job site if necessary.
- Communicate with other partners to make final decisions regarding any issues that may affect intern’s success at a worksite or competitive job site.
- Explore jobs that match intern’s interests and skills and communicate with all team members about job options.
- Attend training programmes provided.
- Participate in decision‑making processes to identify and implement training strategies and/or services with other partners and host business staff.
- Coordinate skills training and other job details with all team members and provide reports for other team members when required.
Professional Responsibilities
- Responsible for duties and activities that ensure interns learn skills required for full-time employment prospects.
- Adhere to and promote the standards of the host business (Amazon) and/or competitive work site in order to promote job productivity and efficiency.
- Submit and complete appropriate skills training paperwork including Access to Work applications and financial claims.
- Recognise and act on the legal responsibilities concerning the safety and welfare of the interns.
- Demonstrate daily work assignment responsibilities: be accountable for all hours assigned, be punctual and regular in attendance, and attend appropriate training activities.

Qualifications
- At least a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
- Level 2 teaching qualification (PTTLSs or equivalent or willingness to work towards).
- A minimum of two years working in an education or vocational training setting, or demonstrable knowledge of the challenges of working in such a setting.
- Experience of working in an inter‑agency setting role, and/or a demonstrable understanding of how to operate successfully in such an environment.
- A minimum of one year of learner and employer engagement experience, or demonstrable knowledge of best practice in respect of engaging with learners and employers.
- Experience of working with disengaged or hard to reach young people.
- Good practical knowledge of common ICT software packages, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
