Catch22 exists to help build a society where everyone has a good place to live, good people around them, and a fulfilling purpose. We call these our '3Ps'. We have been at the heart of public service delivery for over 200 years, designing and delivering services that transform disadvantaged lives and build stronger communities. We achieve this in two ways. Firstly, we improve lives on the frontline through delivery of public services. Secondly, we use our knowledge to change 'the system', to fix the complex web that can trap and disempower those it was set up to help.

Our Community Mediation Service aims to provide a service that helps people find long lasting, realistic solutions to the conflicts affecting their lives and to support public services and local authorities by stopping disputes from escalating and reducing the need for enforcement action. We are a person centred service that aims to give people the best possible chance of good outcomes and have to be flexible and creative in the way we work.

We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Mediation Officer to join our organisation. In this role, you will serve as a neutral facilitator in resolving disputes and conflicts between parties. You will utilise your expertise in conflict resolution to help individuals and organisations reach mutually acceptable agreements while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality throughout the mediation process.

  • Facilitate mediation sessions between disputing parties, ensuring a balanced and neutral environment
  • Conduct thorough assessments of disputes to understand underlying issues and develop appropriate resolution strategies
  • Prepare comprehensive mediation documentation, including agreements, settlement terms, and case summaries
  • Guide parties through the mediation process, explaining procedures and expectations clearly
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and impartiality throughout all mediation proceedings
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, legal representatives, and organisational staff
  • Document mediation outcomes and maintain detailed case records in compliance with organisational standards
  • Analyze conflict patterns and provide recommendations for dispute prevention
  • Stay current with mediation best practices, legal requirements, and procedural updates
  • Provide support and guidance to parties on implementing agreed-upon resolutions

Mediation certification or formal mediation training from a recognised institution is required. A full driving license is also necessary.
