Job Description

Main Duties & Accountabilities

  • Teach Hair & Beauty qualifications from Entry level to Level 2 with a specific focus on Hair.
  • Create an inspirational learning environment with high expectations of learner achievement, success and progression, respecting individual differences in culture and background.
  • Build effective and supporting relationships with learners.
  • Ensure that lessons are well planned and enable learners to achieve and progress.
  • Be the role model for inclusive learning and the recognition and celebration of diversity.
  • Ensure at least good outcomes for all pupils.
  • Plan, produce and update schemes of work to meet curriculum, inspection, and accreditation requirements.
  • Use a range of teaching and learning strategies and resources in line with the College’s teaching and learning policy adapted to learners’ individual needs.
  • Implement and maintain systems for monitoring and evaluating learning activities.
  • Support and guide learners so that they can reflect on their learning, identify the progress they have made and set positive targets for improvement.
  • Maintain a regular system of monitoring, assessment, record-keeping and reporting of student’s progress.

Organisational Relationships

  • Report directly to the Catch22 College: Lead Teacher.
  • Develop positive relationships with students, parents/carers, external agencies and other key stakeholders.
  • Work in partnership with other Catch22 staff across the country focused to share best practice.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience of Teaching and Planning.
  • Experience of working with a cohort of young people including those with complex, high behaviour and additional learning needs.
  • Extensive behaviour management experience with students who have complex needs and extreme behaviour.
  • Relevant classroom teaching experience.
  • Experience with safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare of learners.
  • Occupational Competence in Hair and Beauty Sector.

Additional Information

Salary: The FTE: £26,097.00 Pro-rated: £13,401.16

Contract: Part time Permanent, 19 hours per week.
