In Justice, we work with young people and adults in custody and in the community, providing a range of services including offender management and resettlement, veterans in custody, victim services, gangs work and youth justice. Catch22's Victim Service provides emotional and practical support for victims and witnesses of crime and anti‐social behaviour, alongside crime prevention advice. Last year, we supported 32,500 victims across the UK, achieving improved health and wellbeing outcomes for 99% of our service users.

As a Victim Care Coordinator, you will be providing support to victims of crime across Greater Manchester and manage a caseload of referrals made by Greater Manchester Police. You will be the primary point of contact throughout the victim's journey, providing initial contact and assessment, and tailoring support plans to meet needs. This may involve direct emotional or practical support, or signposting and advocacy to partners.

In addition to managing a caseload, you will lead a specialist area, ensuring services remain current, building expertise, and positioning Catch22 as a leader in the sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective interventions to support those in need, whether over the phone or in-person.
  • Report caseload to leadership and ensure data is collected and recorded accurately.
  • Perform additional administrative duties.
  • Represent Catch22 and engage with partners by attending events, community centres, and liaising with organisations to improve victim support.
  • Lead a specialist area (choose one): Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence, FGM, Children and Young People, Gangs and Knife Crime, Modern Day Slavery, Hate Crimes, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Fraud, Radicalisation.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience working with or supporting vulnerable people, via paid or voluntary employment or personal experience.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices.
  • Basic level of education; excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Good basic IT skills for daily use of systems and reporting.
  • Non-judgmental, non-discriminatory, and empathetic; understanding of victim hardships and working with diverse teams.
  • Strong listening skills, effective problem solving and communication.
  • Resilient and committed to positive outcomes for service users.
Additional Requirements
  • Successfully completed NPPV (non‐police personnel vetting); UK driving licence required and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes.
  • Must have lived in the UK for the past 3 years (subject to exceptions).
Contract Details
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Hours & Work Pattern: Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Rotating shift pattern (8:00–18:00) with 7.5‐hour days, one working Saturday and one Sunday on call per 4‐week term.
  • Salary: £26,097 per annum
  • Location: 1–2 days per week at Greater Manchester Police Headquarters, Newton Heath; remainder remote and in community.
