Senior Service Manager – Health & Wellbeing responsible for operational leadership across a varied portfolio of children and young people’s services, including substance use, emotional health, risk and resilience, prevention, early help and wider health and wellbeing provision. The role reports to the Assistant Director and supports service managers and senior leads to ensure services are safe, high quality, financially sustainable, and focused on delivering meaningful outcomes for children, young people and families.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support service managers and senior leads to maintain strong oversight of performance, safeguarding, quality, compliance, finance, people management and continuous improvement.
  • Take early action where risks or pressures emerge and work closely with commissioners, partners, internal colleagues and senior leaders to strengthen service delivery and support integrated pathways.
  • Translate strategy into clear delivery plans and improvement activity, contributing to the organization’s strategic priorities.
  • Provide confident people leadership and operational grip to manage change, innovation and service improvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing children and young people’s services within health, wellbeing, substance use, emotional health, early help, prevention or related provision.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and financial and performance management experience.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and quality, and ability to lead teams through change, innovation and service improvement.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to translate strategy into clear delivery plans and improvement activity.

Additional Information

  • Salary: £50,000 per annum
  • Hours of work: Full Time, 37 hours per week
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Location: Home-based, with travel across the UK
