Catch22 College
Our Catch22 College is the collective name for 7 sites across the country delivering academic and vocational training programmes for young people aged 14+ who, for whatever reason, are not suited to a mainstream college setting. Our College Site provides learners with a highly supportive environment where they have access to opportunities to build up their confidence and self-belief, and to gain new skills and experiences that will help them to achieve their goals in life. We exist to help our learners find their future.
Responsibilities
- Recruit learners onto the Study Programme – engage with Local Authorities, NEET teams, schools, colleges and referring agencies to forge links and recruit learners; be the first point of contact and complete initial interviews and eligibility checks.
- Support learners throughout the programme – conduct regular 1‑2‑1 progress reviews, liaise with teaching staff, attend weekly meetings with the lead tutor, carry out home visits when necessary, network with agencies, parents and carers to maintain attendance.
- Support learners on work experience placements – match learners to suitable placements, prepare them, conduct site visits and check‑in sessions, support placement providers, and contribute to the overall success of the Catch22 College.
Organisational Relationships
Directly report to the Catch22 College Lead Teacher. Work in close collaboration with the College team – Lead Teacher, Teacher, Teaching Assistant and Administrator.
Qualifications & Experience
- Level 2 Qualification in English and Maths.
- Full driving licence and use of a car for work purposes.
- Experience working in an education or vocational training setting, or demonstrable knowledge of the challenges of such settings.
- Good practical knowledge of common ICT software packages, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to engage, inspire and motivate young people.
- Strong communication and engagement skills; able to form strong connections with professionals and partners.
- Proven experience engaging stakeholders for recruitment and progression.
- Willingness to travel frequently locally and occasionally further afield, including overnight stays.
- Willingness to work additional hours when necessary.
Additional Information
Salary: £25,500 – £26,096 depending on experience. Requires an enhanced DBS check. Role is subject to frequent local travel, with occasional further afield travel and overnight stays.
