County Lines Support Service

A specialist support service for under 25’s and their families, who are criminally exploited through county lines in London, the West Midlands, Merseyside, West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.

Role Overview

The Case Worker – County Lines provides one‑to‑one tailored support to young people, working collaboratively as part of a multi‑agency team to ensure their safety and maximise outcomes.

This role is part of the Home Office‑funded County Lines Support Service.

About You

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to maintain relationships with key partner agencies and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Honest, reliable, with a creative and flexible approach to all aspects of work.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage conflicting demands through problem‑solving and a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Experience in delivering training to young people and professionals in both group and one‑to‑one settings.
  • Strong attention to detail, and knowledge of risk assessments, engagement and intervention strategies for young people with complex needs.
  • Experience using recording and data collation systems.
  • Access to a car and a full manual driving licence.

Main Duties And Accountabilities

  • Provide appropriate end‑to‑end support and interventions to a pre‑defined caseload of young people and their families involved in County Lines activity, through assessment, care planning and risk management.
  • Proactively assess and manage caseload risks, escalating where necessary via internal and external safeguarding procedures, and adapt case‑management frequency and methodology to individual needs.
  • Ensure diverse needs and aspirations of all service users are considered in service planning and delivery, enabling them to fulfil their potential.
  • Liaise effectively with local partner organisations and other agencies to ensure effective referrals, risk management and smooth transitions for young people.
  • Promote joint work of the service and other partners, acting as a sub‑regional or district single point of contact where required.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young people up to the age of 25 and their families, identified as vulnerable or with complex needs, preferably in a community setting.
  • Experience in inter‑agency working, preferably with Children’s and Family Services, Youth Justice Services or Youth Services.
  • Knowledge of risk and vulnerability issues among young people.
  • Good ICT skills, with experience using data recording and data collation systems.
  • Additional Information
  • Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week.
  • Contract: Fixed Term until 31.03.2027.
  • Flexibility: Hybrid working arrangements available where service delivery allows.
  • This role requires access to a car and a full manual driving licence.
  • Travel across the regional area, including occasional evening and weekend working.
