Our global end user client is looking for an experienced D365 Data Migration Consultant with detailed understanding of the D365 data model to work on their global migration from AX2012 to D365. This role can be performed remotely from the UK. This contract will require working frequently to US hours and will be subject to certain security clearance requirements.
- Lead and execute data migration activities from AX 2012 to D365 F&O, including master, reference, open transactional, and inventory data.
- Validate that inventory states (on‑hand, packed, reserved, interface warehouses) are correctly represented across systems.
- Work with AX 2012 data extracts and views aligned to D365 Data Entities.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑migration reconciliation of inventory quantity and valuation using agreed reports and controls.
- Use Azure DevOps to manage migration work items, including:
- Data load tasks
- Defects and data issues
- Maintain clear traceability between data entities, source systems, validation outcomes, and business sign‑off.
- Provide dashboards and reporting (often Power BI–based) to track migration progress, errors, and readiness.
- Work with Data Owners, SMEs, and Functional Leads to:
- Review and cleanse legacy AX data.
- Validate migrated data and obtain formal sign‑off.
- Support audit requirements by ensuring migration steps, controls, and approvals are fully documented.
- Support cutover planning and execution, including final inventory alignment between AX and D365.
