Our manufacturing client is seeking a BI Product Owner to help determine new features or capabilities in their BI/Data Analytics function and ensure that they are serving the wider strategic needs of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Be engaged in all phases of the product lifecycle, collaborating across the business functions (both internal and outsourced) to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new features or capabilities in the BI/Data Analytics group.
  • Ensure products built are in alignment with strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer and ensure the product built meets the defined features requested.
  • Analyze the needs of the internal functional stakeholder/customer to align to strategic goals.
  • Develop scope and define backlog items (epic/features/user stories) that guide the scrum teams, as well as develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for construction and implementation.
  • Develop appropriately detailed specifications for the product features so they are clearly understood by the development teams.
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work focuses on those with a maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
  • Comfortable engaging with all levels of management.
  • Accountable for the constructed and implemented feature(s) and overall product(s) and for communicating the product needs with business partners.
  • Act as an ambassador for the product and as the primary contact for queries related to the product.
  • Actively participate in day-to-day sprint standups, provide bi-weekly sprint reviews, and participate in cross-team planning.
