Our client is a large healthcare organisation who are looking for a Health and Safety Officer to work closely with colleagues across their expanding estates and facilities department. This person will be responsible for providing specific and expert advice and promoting a positive health and safety culture.

This is an office based role based in Keighley, Bradford and offers a salary of around £41,200.

Role responsibilities:
  • To lead and promote a positive Health & Safety Culture and the implementation and ongoing management of the organisational health and safety management system in line with HSG 65 and supporting guidance.
  • To provide expert advice on matters relating to the Construction Design and Management Regulations.
  • Manage issues identified from property and service risk assessments, and co-ordinate to completion with delegated leads.
  • Lead the preparation of local policies, procedures and safe systems of work within the framework of company policies to facilitate achievement of internal targets and controls.
  • To assure compliance with COSHH regulations.
  • Develop and deliver training and induction programmes relating to health and safety as required locally to staff.
Ideal Candidate requirements:
  • 3 years+ proven experience in a similar H&S role.
  • Formal H&S certificates such as NEBOSH and willing to undertake continuous professional development to keep up to date on knowledge.
  • A clear, practical understanding of UK and European health and safety legislation.
  • Analytical approach to identifying problems and developing real, practical and sustainable solutions.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise reports.
  • Ability to work to tight and often statutory deadlines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety management within a healthcare environment would be advantageous.
