The Manager in Training is responsible for maximizing store sales, managing wage cost, ensuring customer satisfaction and employee training and development. The Manager in Training achieves these goals by meeting the Company’s 7 Corporate Objectives, adhering to Company policies and procedures and by being a strong and respected role model to all team members.
The Manager in Training will:
- Partner with the Store Manager to ensure that all necessary training for the position is completed.
- Provide fair, ongoing and effective training and coaching to all employees so that they can successfully execute their jobs, by using all available training resources to maximum benefit.
- Partner with the Store Manager to hold employees accountable through a fair and consistent performance management process.
- Provide training and coaching to employees in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
- Partner with the Store Manager during the hiring process.
- Partner with the Store Manager to ensure visual merchandising and marketing directions are implemented as per visual directives, within required timeframes, and provide guidance to the visual team.
- Ensure loss prevention policies and practices are adhered to.
- Ensure all customers have a memorable and enjoyable shopping experience at all times, by providing friendly and knowledgeable service including product benefits and features.
- Be available to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business (evenings, weekends, holidays).
- Physically demanding work in a store environment.
- Standing on your feet for an extended period of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- 1+ years of experience in retail.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Be a people person, with strong ability to communicate with customers and employees.
- Have excellent time management, organizational, multi-tasking and problem solving skills.
- Proficient with technology.
