We are looking for a talented and inquisitive Principal DevOps Engineer whose drive for learning and determination for continuous improvement aligns with our ambitious, fast-growing and transforming company. Based in our London office, you will be a key player in planning, designing, building and testing the features of our next-generation cloud platform that combines digital video assets, wearable data and athlete information to provide insights and analytics to coaching/support staff, sports scientists and athletes to assist in optimizing athlete performance. We believe that our customers deserve the best platform and we are on a mission to maximize and enhance their performance through delivering a high-quality experience. Our software and DevOps engineers match this ethos by taking responsibility for constantly improving productivity and development of self and be able to excel in a fast-paced environment with short project timelines from conception to deployment.
What you’ll do:
- Cloud ability to influence across engineering, security, and finance.
- Experience with regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, fintech).
- Familiarity with multiple compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
What your success will look like:
In 6 months time…
- You will have moved beyond the onboarding phase to become the primary authority on Catapult’s infrastructure.
- You will fully own the cloud infrastructure, having gained a deep understanding of all interconnected parts that support their athlete and video data services.
- You will have taken control of infrastructure provisioning and configuration management, ensuring that Terraform or Ansible are being used effectively for IaC.
- You will have designed and begun maintaining essential logging, monitoring, and SLO/SLI frameworks to ensure high system health and performance.
- You will have a full understanding of Catapult’s products and the way we are working in order to be able to architect any new future existing or new product.
In 12 months time…
- You will be driving the 'next generation' of Catapult’s technology stack and leading cross-functional improvements.
- You will take full accountability for the evolution of our production ecosystem, architecting a resilient, 'deploy-anywhere' infrastructure that scales seamlessly with software demands and business growth.
- You will have refined the CI/CD pipelines to a state where software delivery is consistently fast, safe, and repeatable across the engineering team.
- You will have transitioned the platform to a 'security-first' architecture, successfully embedding automated AppSec controls and vulnerability scanning directly into the CI/CD pipelines.
- Your success will be reflected in your ability to influence stakeholders across engineering, security, and finance to drive technical and operational improvements.
