Location: London or Milton Keynes (minimum of two days a week in the office. You can do more than two days if preferable)

Working hours: Full time (9 day Fortnight companywide)

The Senior HR Operations Advisor is a newly created fixed-term role, to build additional resource into the HR Operations team during a particularly busy period. The role combines responsibility for first-line employee relations advice and manager coaching alongside supporting as required with core HR processes, including contractual changes and HRIS record management. Working closely with colleagues, managers, finance and the wider HR team, the postholder will act as a trusted advisor on HR policy, employment processes, contractual matters and day-to-day people issues, ensuring queries are resolved accurately, sensitively and in line with CPC policy and employment legislation. The role also contributes to continuous improvement across HR Operations by maintaining accurate data, improving processes, supporting HR projects and ensuring an ethos of equity, inclusivity and diversity underpins HR service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted advisor to managers and colleagues on HR policy, contractual matters, employment processes and day-to-day people issues, applying sound judgement and escalating higher risk matters appropriately.
  • End-to-end management of employee relations casework, including absence management, performance, disciplinary, grievance, flexible working requests.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential and GDPR-compliant HR records, case files, right to work evidence and contractual documentation, identifying risks and taking action to resolve or elevate them.
  • Support transition of HRIS from Cezanne to HiBob, maintaining data quality, processing system changes, producing reports and supporting colleagues to use HR systems and processes effectively.
  • Lead or contribute to HR projects, cyclical activities and process improvements, coordinating input from others where required and sharing learning with the team.
  • Respond to HR Inbox queries and provide clear, customer-focused advice, taking ownership of resolution and identify opportunities to improve colleague experience.
  • Uphold and promote CPC's values, supporting equity, inclusivity and diversity, and undertake other reasonable duties to support effective business operations.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Previous experience in a busy HR team is required, with strong capability across HR operations, HRIS, employee lifecycle processes, records compliance and first-line ER advice.
  • Credible, discreet and customer-focused, with the ability to build trusted relationships and manage a busy workload independently.
  • Previous experience using HiBob systems for core HR would be ideal.
  • Experience delivering HR operational processes across the employee lifecycle, with good knowledge of HR policy, employment law and contract law.
  • Experience advising managers on employee relations and people management matters, with sound judgement on when to elevate risk or complexity.
  • Confident HRIS user, able to maintain data quality, produce reports and support process improvement or automation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting clear correspondence, guidance and process documentation.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification is preferred but not essential.
