Job Responsibilities
- Technical lead for assigned collaborative and commercial power electronics R&D projects for a variety of customer applications.
- Engineering work package owner responsible for carrying out a range of engineering activities whilst coordinating junior engineers and technicians.
- Translate basic specifications into circuit topologies that optimise converter power efficiency and power density to demonstrate the benefits of using SiC and GaN devices.
- Assess candidate power conversion topologies using circuit modelling and simulation.
- Assess PCB designs to optimise electromagnetic and thermal performance.
- Support the activities of the power electronics team as well as collaborate with the other engineering functions of Advanced Packaging, RF/Microwave, and Photonics to deliver cross-functional projects.
- Technical reporting to the project team and wider audience to demonstrate regular progress.
- Responsible for materials, design, and delivery of sub-assemblies contributing towards Engineering Evaluation Modules.
- Conduct technical risk assessments.
