Job Responsibilities

  • Technical lead for assigned collaborative and commercial power electronics R&D projects for a variety of customer applications.
  • Engineering work package owner responsible for carrying out a range of engineering activities whilst coordinating junior engineers and technicians.
  • Translate basic specifications into circuit topologies that optimise converter power efficiency and power density to demonstrate the benefits of using SiC and GaN devices.
  • Assess candidate power conversion topologies using circuit modelling and simulation.
  • Assess PCB designs to optimise electromagnetic and thermal performance.
  • Support the activities of the power electronics team as well as collaborate with the other engineering functions of Advanced Packaging, RF/Microwave, and Photonics to deliver cross-functional projects.
  • Technical reporting to the project team and wider audience to demonstrate regular progress.
  • Responsible for materials, design, and delivery of sub-assemblies contributing towards Engineering Evaluation Modules.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments.
