Catalyx is seeking a Platform Engineering Manager to join our team and work on our customer site in Macclesfield.

Catalyx is seeking an HPC Platform Engineering Manager to lead the engineering and operational support of high‑performance computing environments used for scientific and research workloads. The role involves managing compute infrastructure, enabling scalable cloud platforms and supporting DevOps‑driven infrastructure automation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering and operational support for high‑performance computing platforms.
  • Manage Linux‑based compute infrastructure supporting scientific and analytical workloads.
  • Implement infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Support deployment and optimisation of private cloud platforms.
  • Work with research and engineering teams to support large‑scale compute workloads.
  • Define reliability, monitoring and scalability strategies for distributed computing environments.
  • Lead DevOps and platform engineering practices across the HPC environment.

Requirements

  • Experience managing HPC or large‑scale compute infrastructure environments.
  • Strong Linux systems administration experience.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Knowledge of private cloud platforms and DevOps practices.
  • Experience leading engineering or platform teams.
