Role Summary

The position is 20-30% above market and is designed for a highly technical Director or Partner who has spent several years operating at senior level within a Big 4, Big 6, or Top 10 firm. The firm seeks one Partner with strong U.S. tax financial services – asset and wealth management compliance credentials, the ability to manage significant client relationships, and the appetite to take on increased responsibility toward Managing Partner. The successful candidate will assume a substantial technical workload currently handled at Partner level while also contributing to business development, client growth, and the ongoing strength of the Cayman tax practice.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the existing Bermuda tax partners to manage U.S. tax compliance for corporate, partnership, and other complex structures.
  • Prepare, review, and sign‑off on complex U.S. tax returns, ASC 740 provisions, and other technical deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. domestic and international tax rules, including FATCA and CFC/PFIC regulations.
  • Support clients in implementing robust tax compliance processes and controls.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to resolve technical issues and deliver high‑quality solutions.
  • Contribute to maintaining the firm’s reputation for technical excellence and client service.

Ideal Experience & Background

  • CPA designation (EA, LLM in Taxation, or equivalent international credential also considered).
  • 15+ years of U.S. tax experience in public accounting or professional services, with strong focus on compliance.
  • Deep technical knowledge of ASC 740, corporate and partnership taxation, and taxation of insurance and investment fund structures.
  • Proven ability to manage complex technical work and deliver accurate, high‑quality results.
  • Experience working collaboratively within senior teams of partners and managers.
  • Strong communication skills for internal and client interactions.
  • Willingness to relocate to Bermuda (relocation support and work permit sponsorship provided).
