Our client is a successful tech scaleup, a cash-generative SME currently at c.£10m turnover and c.80 staff, looking to double in size in the next five years under the guidance of its experienced, highly charismatic and driven owner, supported by a first-class senior leadership team, including a highly committed and experienced CFO. Growth means we are looking to strengthen the company’s Finance department by appointing a new Management Accounts Assistant.
As Management Accounts Assistant, based at the company's Gateshead headquarters, you’ll assist the company’s Management Accountant in carrying out day-to-day activities of the Finance department, also working closely with the CFO and Financial Controller. Your responsibilities as Management Accounts Assistant will include:
- Balance sheet reconciliations including Bank, Supplier and Stock
- Invoice approvals and processing
- Calculating accruals and prepayments
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Posting journal entries
- Tracking costs, analysing variances, allocating overheads
- Reporting on waste
- Assisting with cash flow forecasting and budgeting
- Supporting liaison with external parties such as HMRC, Auditors, banks and authorities
As Management Accounts Assistant you’ll need:
- Strong varied accounting experience, ideally gained in an Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable role, preferably including fast-moving, growing, SME exposure
- Manufacturing and service sector experience beneficial
- Qualified to AAT L4 or equivalent - we will consider qualified by experience
- A proactive, diligent and flexible approach
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
- Competent in the use of Xero, Sage or similar and Excel with related office and accounting technologies
Rewards and Benefits:
- Basic salary between £30,000 and £35,000 (plus benefits)
