Our client, a global manufacturer of engineered ceramic and related products, needs a person to be their global market manager for products and services going into the petroleum, petrochemical and chemical refining and manufacturing industries.
Location: Home based in Germany, UK, France, the Netherlands, perhaps others. Near a large international airport.

- Key points:
- Significant technical understanding of the higher-temperature process areas. Examples: oxidizers, combustion units, HCCs, FCCs, fluidized bed and pressure vessel type reactors, etc.
- Understanding of processes licensing, turnaround contractors and EPCs and similar.
- Experience in creating go to market strategies for technical products/services in the subject areas.
Short version: The Market Manager will define and lead strategies to promote a combination of company products and services to the chemical/refining industry globally and regionally, as appropriate. They will do this with business units, the global commercial team, etc.
- Specifics:
- Define “go to market” strategies for the company – regionally and corporately, addressing key technical, supply chain and other product/service issues and opportunities.
- This is a position of influence. Work across cultures in-company to guide the market efforts. Must be credible with people in areas as diverse across continents – from Asia to the Americas and EMEA, etc.
- Work with those in-company and in industry to define opportunities that the company might be able to address.
- Lead the commercial team in implementation of their overall or single aspect go to market plans.
- Ensure a good feedback system works between industry personnel and those in company to find new products or services that might be helpful to retain and expand on market position.
- Meet with people in industry, EPCs, those in-company globally, both in-person and virtually.
- Travel expected to be approximately 40%.
Qualifications and Experience:
- University degree. Preference for both technical and business (example engineering and MBA).
- At least 5 years of advanced-level experience providing commercial or market definition of value-added products or engineering services to the appropriate industries.
- Willing and able to travel to locations globally (assuming all is safe).
- Verifiable experience creating and executing go-to-market plans for products and/or services going into the chemical, petrochemical and refining industry.
