This is a hands-on analytical assignment requiring someone who can quickly take ownership of a complex data set, work independently, and provide clear, evidence-based findings to senior stakeholders.
The successful contractor will play a key role in reviewing historic pension contribution data, reconciling payroll records, and identifying any contribution shortfalls.

- Working closely with payroll and finance teams to gather, validate and interpret data.
- Identifying and flagging data quality issues throughout the project.
- Producing clearly documented calculations and audit trails to support remediation decisions.
- Summarising findings and financial exposure for senior finance stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong payroll data reconciliation experience
- Advanced Excel skills and a highly methodical, audit-focused approach
- Experience analysing pension contribution data, ideally within UK defined contribution pension schemes
- Understanding of auto-enrolment contribution calculations, qualifying earnings and certified pension bases
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience communicating analytical findings clearly and objectively
- Background within Payroll, Reward, Compensation & Benefits, or Pension Administration environments
- Experience within larger, complex organisations would be particularly valuable.
