We are supporting our client, a large and highly matrixed global organisation, in the search for an exceptional Skills & Capability Partner to work within their Product & Technology (P&T) division. This is a newly created and strategically significant role that will play a central part in shaping how the organisation builds and sustains the technical capabilities needed across a 5,000+ person P&T workforce operating across India, the UK, Europe and multiple global hubs.
The Skills & Capability Partner will act as a trusted advisor to the CTO, CIO, Product leadership teams, HR Business Partners and the wider Talent & Learning community. The remit is to understand the present and future capability needs of the P&T function, diagnose skill gaps, and design targeted interventions that lift capability across engineering, product, data, architecture and technology operations.
The successful candidate will bring strong credibility in the technology space and deep experience working with large, dispersed global teams. They will work within a centralised talent structure, partnering closely with the newly appointed Head of Learning & Capability to embed capability frameworks, develop learning pathways and support large‐scale workforce upskilling.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with senior P&T leaders to translate strategy into capability requirements and development priorities.
- Diagnose current and future skill gaps across global tech and product teams.
- Develop and embed capability frameworks that link to performance, workforce planning, and career pathways.
- Design or curate high‐impact learning programmes, academies and pathways for critical technical and leadership skills.
- Collaborate with HRBPs and Centres of Excellence across a large matrixed environment.
- Support the adoption of Agile and squad‐based working where relevant.
- Engage with global teams, including travel to India 2–3 times per year.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous learning across the P&T organisation.
We are seeking someone with:
- Proven understanding of Product & Technology environments within large, complex, high‐growth or digital‐first businesses.
- Experience in capability building, learning & development or talent development at scale.
- Credibility with senior technology leaders and comfort working with engineering, product and data stakeholders.
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed global organisation and navigate ambiguity.
- Experience with Agile or squad methodologies.
Hybrid role, typically spending 2–3 days per week in the office. No direct reports; embedded within a large, centralised talent team.
