We're supporting a large UK organisation on a business-critical pension remediation project and are looking for an experienced Pension Data Analyst to join ASAP.

This is a hands-on analytical assignment requiring someone who can quickly take ownership of a complex data set, work independently, and provide clear, evidence-based findings to senior stakeholders.

The successful contractor will play a key role in reviewing historic pension contribution data, reconciling payroll records, and identifying any contribution shortfalls.

This is not a consulting or advisory project.

The focus is on detailed analysis, data validation, and producing robust outputs that can stand up to scrutiny.

  • The Assignment
  • Reviewing historic pension contribution data against payroll records.
  • Analysing payroll extracts containing multiple pay elements, including base salary, commission, overtime and other earnings components.
  • Reconciling data line-by-line to determine the correct pension contribution position.
  • Working closely with payroll and finance teams to gather, validate and interpret data.
  • Identifying and flagging data quality issues throughout the project.
  • Producing clearly documented calculations and audit trails to support remediation decisions.
  • Summarising findings and financial exposure for senior finance stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong payroll data reconciliation experience
  • Advanced Excel skills and a highly methodical, audit-focused approach
  • Experience analysing pension contribution data, ideally within UK defined contribution pension schemes
  • Understanding of auto-enrolment contribution calculations, qualifying earnings and certified pension bases
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience communicating analytical findings clearly and objectively
  • Background within Payroll, Reward, Compensation & Benefits, or Pension Administration environments
  • Experience within larger, complex organisations would be particularly valuable.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, or you know someone with the right pension and payroll analytics background, please get in touch for a confidential discussion.
