A leading alternative investment manager is expanding its European investment team and is seeking a Director to drive new deal origination and execution across Northern UK.
This is a high-impact role focused on sourcing proprietary opportunities, leading complex transactions, and building long-term relationships with sponsors, lenders, corporates, and advisory firms. The successful candidate will work closely with senior Partners to help scale European investment activity ahead of an upcoming fund deployment cycle.
The Director will play a key role in driving new investment activity across the UK and Europe for a growing alternative investment platform focused on complex credit, special situations, and structured capital solutions. This is a hands-on investment role with a strong mandate to build proprietary deal flow, lead transactions through execution, and contribute to the expansion of the European investment footprint ahead of the next fund deployment cycle.
- Proactively source new investment opportunities across the UK but must be able to evidence a strong Northern network.
- Build and maintain relationships with financial sponsors, lenders, advisors, corporates, and intermediaries.
- Develop proprietary deal pipelines aligned with the firm's investment strategy.
- Lead deal evaluation, due diligence, financial analysis, and investment structuring.
- Prepare investment committee materials and present recommendations.
- Support portfolio company strategy, financing, and restructuring initiatives.
- Work with senior leadership to monitor portfolio performance and value creation plans.
- Mentor junior investment analyst professionals.
- Contribute to building the firm's presence outside London and across European markets.
Typically 7–10+ years of experience in private equity, private credit, restructuring, special situations, or leveraged finance. Demonstrable success in building and converting proprietary deal flow. Strong financial modelling and structuring capability. Commercial judgement in complex or distressed situations. Established network across sponsors, lenders, advisors, and corporate stakeholders. Comfortable working in a lean, high-performance environment. Willingness to travel regularly to London and key European markets.
Hybrid working structure with regular travel to London and periodic travel across Europe for deal origination and execution.
Compensation: Extremely attractive and competitive six-figure base salary plus bonus and carry interest.
