Catalent’s Nottingham facility focuses on early-stage development of small molecule drug candidates from the bench to clinic. This facility offers an array of services that support oral dosage forms that include characterization, formulation and analytical development, manufacturing and clinical packaging, labelling and worldwide distribution. This MHRA approved facility includes cGMP dose form manufacturing, packaging, analytical and development laboratories with OEB 1-3 and controlled drug storage to handle even your most challenging products.

We’re looking for a Multi‑Skilled Engineer to ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of our site across three buildings. This is a hands‑on role for an engineer who enjoys problem‑solving, maintaining critical utilities and infrastructure, and working to rigorous GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and statutory standards. The Role:

  • Utilities & Building Fabric – Maintain HVAC, water systems, plant rooms, air conditioning, gas bottles, and building infrastructure in line with statutory requirements.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) – Complete all scheduled PPM activities on time to avoid operational or safety risks.
  • Corrective Maintenance – Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural issues to minimise downtime.
  • Job Planning – Convert maintenance requirements into clear job plans and work instructions.
  • Change Control – Carry out equipment and system changes in line with SOPs and formal change control processes.
  • Calibration – Perform precision servicing and calibration of production equipment to maintain quality standards.
  • Documentation & Audit Readiness – Complete all paperwork accurately and support audits, including closing corrective actions.
  • Contractor & SOP Management – Manage contractors (RAMS/work orders) and update SOPs to reflect best practice.

The Candidate:

  • Experience – Established experience in facilities engineering or a multi‑skilled maintenance role within a manufacturing/regulated environment. F‑Gas qualification desirable.
  • Fault‑Finding – Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic capability.
  • Health & Safety – Familiarity with H&S regulations, RAMS, and Permit to Work systems.
  • GMP – GMP experience desirable but not essential.
  • Regulatory Knowledge – Strong understanding of statutory requirements for building and utility management.
  • Communication & Digital Skills – Excellent English communication and proficiency in Microsoft Office for KPI tracking and documentation.
  • Organisation – Highly organised, able to manage a high workload and perform well under pressure.
