Position SummaryWe have an opportunity for a Utlities Maintenance Shift Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of utility systems and equipment. You will perform planned maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position is key to maintaining reliability, compliance, and operational excellence across the site.

Shift: 2 days 2 nights 4 days offLocation: Swindon, UK100% OnsiteThe RoleEnsure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of utility systems and associated plant equipment across the siteDeliver planned preventative maintenance, effective fault diagnosis, and breakdown responseDrive continuous improvement activities to maximise equipment reliability, plant uptime, product quality, and energy efficiencyProvide technical expertise within a regulated Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environmentEnsure compliance with health, safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirementsCollaborate with production teams, contractors, and project teams to deliver sustainable improvements and operational excellenceThe CandidateMinimum RequirementsProven engineering experience in a maintenance or utilities environmentCompleted a recognised relevant apprenticeship or equivalent Mechanical or Electrical qualificationStrong evidenced fault-finding and problem-solving skillsAbility to read engineering drawings and technical documentationExperience with Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) systems and Microsoft OfficeEssential: experience of HVAC, boilers, refrigeration, chilled water, purified water, cooling towers, vacuum systems, and freeze dryersDesirable: experience of working in a GMP or regulated manufacturing environmentPreferred Skills & BackgroundStrong commitment to safety, quality, and GMP complianceExcellent communication skillsCollaborative approach with ability to build relationships across all departmentsCalm and resilient under pressure during breakdown and recovery situationsStrong accountability and attention to detailEffective planning, organisation, and prioritisation skillsProactive continuous improvement mindset and ability to challenge constructivelyAdaptable, flexible, and responsive to changing prioritiesActively shares knowledge and supports team developmentResults-focused with a strong customer and operational awarenessWhy You Should Join CatalentOur Swindon facility houses our Zydis fast dissolving tablet development and manufacturing operation as well as a CMC pharmaceutical analytical lab services unit that offers ASAP stability.
