The Scientific Product Development department is responsible for the initial technical assessment of new enquiries with Business Development, scoping of the work and providing support to Commercial Operations in the production of quotations. Providing scientific oversight for the design and development of site project portfolio with regards to drug product formulations, manufacturing processes and associated reports and documentation.
The Role:
- Develop and communicate a compelling vision and strategy for the Product Development function aligned with site and divisional goals.
- Provide the strategic roadmap for the scientific services at the Nottingham Facility.
- Provide scientific guidance to the Product Development team; act as the mentor and coach for key Product Development talent.
- Support cross-functional collaboration with the Project Management, Manufacturing, QA, and QC to translate scientific concepts into an executable plan.
- Manage the operational budget and expenses for the Scientific Product Development function effectively.
- Lead the Catalent Nottingham technical and scientific capabilities on the Site Leadership Team.
The Candidate:
- Education to degree level or higher in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry or physical sciences.
- Greater than 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical product design, development and manufacturing.
- In-depth understanding of the formulation development of simple and complex oral dosage forms and the supporting analytical methodologies and characterisation techniques.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to facilitate problem-solving.
- Understanding of regulatory and quality requirements in the markets and the application of ICH guidelines.
