With nearly 25 years of experience, our Bathgate location in Scotland, UK is an integral part of Catalent’s European clinical supply services network. This 141,000 sq. ft. facility has a comprehensive range of capabilities to support sponsors’ studies throughout the UK, Europe and beyond, including clinical supply management, FastChain® demand-led supply, clinical-scale commercial packaging, and QP release services. We have high-speed, automated primary packaging for blisters, as well as semi-automated primary packaging for bottles. We offer packaging design services on site, as well as secondary packaging and clinical labeling services.

Position Summary

We have an opportunity for a Pre-Production Specialist, Global Operations to join our team. In this role, you will work within a regulated environment supporting clinical trials and pharmaceutical operations. You will manage order processes, ensure compliance, and maintain accuracy across documentation and systems. This position requires strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. Shift: Monday - Friday 37.5 hours p/w Location: Bathgate, UK 100% Onsite

The Role

Create site packaging and/or shipment orders. Perform study set up, design, and writing of batch records. Manage client demand received via various data exchange methods to ensure timely order processing and prevent patient risk. Review and audit assembly order and shipment order packets for accuracy. Check availability and select bulk material to order within SupplyFlex Aggregator. Generate assembly and shipment orders for Clinical Trial Materials in SupplyFlex Aggregator to meet client demand in line with protocol-specific service levels and turnaround times. Execute the manual business continuation process in the event of a SupplyFlex outage. Using Excel and Clinicopia, assign kit numbers to orders and shipments if not client provided. Manage aggregation execution and monitor requesting patterns to flag required schedule changes. Ensure that created assembly and shipment orders comply with all applicable SOPs and Packaging and Distribution information (PADI) and audit request packets for accuracy.

The Candidate Minimum Requirements

  • Good standard of education.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Able to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.

Preferred Skills & Background Experience

Supporting clinical trial packaging and distribution activities. Knowledge of clinical supply chain systems and aggregation processes. Understanding of clinical trial regulations, patient risk considerations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) or Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
