Catalent Pharma Solutions is seeking a Scientist 2 to join our expanding Swindon manufacturing facility, supporting our innovative Zydis product line. The Scientist 2 will be responsible for delivering analytical activities within the Analytical Laboratory. All work must be carried out in compliance with cGXP requirements, supporting analytical investigations, meeting project timelines, and maintaining a safe working environment.
The Role:
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge and hands‑on experience with commonly used laboratory equipment, including chemical, chromatographic, and physical evaluation techniques for pharmaceutical dosage forms.
- Works independently on analytical testing activities, including stability batch release, clinical batch release, analytical method development, and method validation.
- Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and efficiency projects within the Analytical team, including supporting training activities.
- Maintains a strong understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to analytical operations, including cGMP, ICH guidelines (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q8), Pharmacopeias, and internal SOPs.
- Understands the Product Development Cycle and Drug Delivery Technologies.
- Supports internal and external audit readiness, including data reviews, CMC section checks, and archiving maintenance.
- Represents the laboratory during audits.
- Produces well‑structured technical reports, applying sound scientific principles to deliver clear, evidence‑based conclusions.
- Authors SOPs, analytical methods, stability protocols, method validation protocols, and analytical investigations.
- Trained in quality management systems such as TrackWise, Qumas, and LIMS, including implementation of change controls and change requests.
The Candidate:
- Degree (or higher) in a Chemistry‑related discipline.
- Proven experience working in a cGXP laboratory environment.
- Experience running HPLC.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
