The Role
We are excited to say we are now recruiting for a Senior Designer to join our Pro-Sport Design division. Reporting to the Design Manager this role will support in delivering innovative, functional and commercial products to our partners and retail offerings, whilst fulfilling the company’s strategic aims.
Responsibilities

  • To be fully engaged in the complete design process, from origination of design concepts and briefs, including working on given briefs, working towards range plans and pricing structures, through to catalogues for GTM and supporting the creative team in general.
  • Input and ensure delivery of seasonal colour palettes, ensuring commercial viability
  • To input a wide knowledge of, and conduct targeted research into – the market and usage via media, retail visits, own wear and athlete liaison
  • Assist the design teams with a knowledge of performance ensuring designs are targeted with the end user/customer in mind.
  • Produce product specifications in the detail required to realise the garment successfully and within cost, working closely with Development Teams.
  • Liaise with Design Manager with regular updates regarding designs, critical paths, workload, range changes and product trackers.
  • Review product ranges/samples regularly with Design Manager, highlighting any problems/changes that need to be addressed

Skills & Experience

  • Have excellent time management skills with the ability to work across multiple projects at a time.
  • Have an approachable attitude to ensure a good working relationship with the team and work side by side with other design and department managers.
  • Attention to detail to ensure all product details are correct and that all aspects from a brand, partner and regulations side of things are considered and covered off.
  • A background in Teamwear Design would be beneficial
  • An understanding and appreciation of the global outdoor market and industry (or associated market area)
  • Team orientated, good negotiator and inspiring communicator, cooperative and inquisitive
  • Competent in MS Office programmes
  • Versatility to work on a broad range of product categories
  • Commercial understanding of colour merchandising and range building
  • Detailed understanding of fit requirements and garment construction
  • Knowledge and experience of performance fabrics and technologies
  • Good presentation skills is a must for both internal and external presentations of ranges and products.
