The Role
The Area Manager is responsible for leading the commercial and operational performance of multiple retail stores within a defined region. This role ensures the consistent delivery of operational excellence, exceptional customer experience, and excellent financial performance. Working closely with Store Managers and the Senior Leadership team, the Area Manager will drive sales growth, develop high-performing teams, and ensure company standards, policies, and brand values are consistently executed across all locations. The role will oversee the operations and performance of Castore Full Price/Outlet Retail and Rugby Team stores within the allocated region. This role is predominantly field-based with occasional travel to our Manchester HQ required.
Responsibilities
- Commercial Performance: Drive sales growth and maximise profitability across all stores within the region; Set, communicate, and monitor store sales targets and KPIs; Analyse store performance data and implement strategies to improve results.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure consistent execution of operational standards and company procedures across all stores; Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions to improve efficiency and performance; Conduct regular store visits to review operations, support teams, and maintain brand standards.
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, coach, and develop Store Managers to deliver high levels of performance and customer experience; Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback and support; Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of retail talent across the region.
- Strategy & Reporting: Contribute to and implement the retail operational strategy in line with wider business objectives; Produce and deliver performance reports and insights to the senior leadership team; Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent operational execution across the business.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a multi-site retail leadership or senior retail management role.
- Proven track record of delivering excellent commercial results in a retail environment.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail performance reporting tools.
