The Role

As a Deputy Manager, you’re responsible for inspiring your team to deliver the Castore customer and brand vision. You will support the team in delivering the service and sales proposition for the store and ensuring that the customer is at the heart of what we do. Your mission is to ensure we put the customer first – always. You will ensure all employees are given what they need to know, when they need to know it so that they’re empowered and informed. In your role, you will have a variety of focus areas which means you are always learning new things, including growing sales and developing a service focussed team who will continue to drive the business forward. You will also be responsible for supporting all operations within the store, both front and back of house. This role is on a 37.5-hour per week contract.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager in guiding and coaching the team to inspire a “customer first always” approach.
  • Ensure the floor team are set up operationally to deliver the best customer experience and maximise sales.
  • Provide the right training to deliver service expectations and manage performance in the moment with regular feedback.
  • React to a constantly changing retail environment, driving service in the moment and responding to customer needs.
  • Set up smooth processes for stock flow, returns, and achieve “All Sizes Out” targets.
  • Operate and manage all back‑of‑house functions, including cash handling, delivery paperwork and administrative tasks.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, keep documentation updated and stored in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with H&S policies and raise issues to the Head Office within required time frames.
  • Drive commercial results by setting clear objectives and goals to achieve sale plans and KPI targets with a service‑focused approach.
  • Build and lead an excellent, focused, and motivated team, encouraging initiative and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for improvement, and embrace multi‑channel advancements to support the business growth.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a supervisory or management role in a customer‑facing environment. Retail exposure is beneficial.
  • Ability to thrive in a sales‑targeted environment.
