Castles & Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) is seeking to appoint two Non-Executive Directors to join the Board. Formed in 2017, CCHA owns and manages over 7,400 homes across the North of England, delivering high-quality, affordable housing to both rural and urban communities. As a Board Member, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring strong governance, and supporting the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused services. CCHA has an active development programme for much-needed new homes, an exciting process and technology transformation programme, and are developing the next 5-year Corporate Strategy. These are developed from strong foundations, as CCHA is securely funded and retains the highest governance rating from the Regulator. As a Board Member, you will have the opportunity to influence and drive CCHA’s ambitious plans in the coming years.
- Provide constructive challenge and strategic oversight to the Executive Team
- Ensure strong governance, financial integrity, and regulatory compliance
- Oversee risk management, performance, and organisational effectiveness
- Safeguard the organisation’s assets, reputation, and long-term sustainability
A strong understanding of governance and organisational leadership is required, along with the ability to analyse complex information, including financial data, and an awareness of risk, regulation, and organisational accountability.
Experience in housing in one or more of the following areas is required:
- Housing management
- Asset management, building safety and sustainability
- Regulatory standards
Previous Board Member or Chairing experience is desirable. Attendance at Board and Committee meetings (mix of in-person across Carlisle, Newcastle and Workington, and virtual) is expected. The Board plays a vital role in ensuring the organisation continues to deliver safe, affordable homes and strong communities, while maintaining high levels of customer and colleague satisfaction.
