Role

Type: Permanent.

  • Roles & Responsibilities
  • Team leadership: Supervise and lead a team of seasonal employees, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging teamwork.
  • Customer satisfaction: Ensure our guests receive exceptional service and enjoy their time with us.
  • Operations management: Oversee the daily operations of the 1872 Café, Lakeview Café, and Ice Cream Kiosk, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Stock management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, order supplies, and conduct regular stock checks.
  • Act as deputy: Step in for the Catering Manager when they are absent, taking responsibility for shifts and overall operation.
  • Innovation: Help implement new ideas for menus, promotions, or services that enhance the visitor experience and align with our values.
  • Food safety & hygiene: Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations, including allergen management and staff training.
  • Duty manager role: Occasionally act as a Duty Manager for the Aquarium, overseeing the safety, security, and smooth running of the entire facility.
  • What we’re looking for
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within catering or hospitality is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate is desirable or a willingness to obtain it).
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and during peak periods.

This is a salaried, permanent position at £25,947.
