We are currently seeking an Assistant Buyer/Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services to meet our business needs.
Responsibilities
- Material scheduling and placing of material orders, ensuring timely delivery to site.
- Controlling the hire and off hire of plant, ensuring appropriate rent or buy calculations made when considering the hiring of plant & equipment.
- Producing material enquiries and cost comparisons.
- Producing weekly plant reports and site order reports.
- Controlling the location and movement of owned plant.
- Maintaining appropriate procurement schedules.
- Attend project team meetings and advise on all relevant issues.
- Involvement as required by the Company.
- Necessary site visits to monitor these duties.
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required.
Experience
The successful candidate should possess:
- Experience working with Purchasing software
- Knowledge of supply chain and logistics processes
- Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers
- Previous experience within the construction industry an advantage
