Castlegate is seeking a Financial Planner. This role will be instrumental in assisting the growth of Castlegate Financial Management and the wider Duncan & Toplis Group by developing our presence in London and working with the Duncan & Toplis team to grow the existing client base. At Castlegate, we are an experienced team of financial planners based in our main office in Grantham with offices in the East Midlands and London regions. Many of our financial planners have achieved chartered status, which is widely regarded as the top qualification that a financial planner can attain. This means that our clients not only have access to a local financial professional (for convenience), but also some of the best financial advice available in the UK. This does not detract from our personal service, however. Our team is commended for its friendliness, approachability and emphasis on building trusting relationships.
Your responsibilities
- Meeting clients to understand their future investment plans and documenting them accordingly.
- Obtaining detailed reports and information from the clients to determine income, expenses, risk tolerance, capacity for loss, existing plans, personal circumstances, tax status and their financial objectives.
- Discussing the investment opportunities and risks related to the particular investment with the clients.
- Recommending strategies with consideration to Castlegate's Centralised Investment Proposition that the clients can use in achieving their financial goals and objectives.
- Ensuring that recommendations and associated advice is compliant, well researched, comprehensive, and well documented.
- Taking responsibility for client documentation and ensuring it is complete and compliant.
- Maintaining the expected standards of service to clients and partners; including reviews of existing client files and conducting review meetings as appropriate to track changes in financial status and economic changes to indicate any necessity of making a change to their existing holdings.
- Achieving agreed target levels of fee income and meeting the standards set by the firm.
- Ensuring Directors and Team Members at allocated offices of Duncan & Toplis are kept up to date and informed of relevant financial services developments and opportunities.
- Developing professional connections (internal and external) to produce continuing quality client introductions.
- Carrying out other general duties, as requested from time to time by Senior Management and the Board of Directors, commensurate with skills, experience and status.
About you
- Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, presentational and relationship building skills, with the ability to raise appropriate questions to the clients.
- Being able to actively listen and explain complex concepts in a manner likely to be understood by a client.
- Should be enthusiastic and willing to assist clients, Directors and team members of Duncan & Toplis.
- Profound knowledge of the financial services market, rules and regulations, products, associated technical and compliance issues.
- Understand and demonstrate adherence to regulatory requirements and obligations.
- IT literate, including the full Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent telephone and communication manner essential.
- Good organisational, administrative and time management skills essential.
- Self-discipline, motivation and initiative with ability to work alone and unsupervised, and within a team environment when appropriate.
- Results driven and service orientated.
- Flexible attitude to work, prepared to travel, evening appointments etc.
- Must be qualified to Diploma level 4 or higher and committed to further professional advancement via examination.
- Must have a current and valid Statement of Professional Standing.
