Stoke-on-Trent City Council is undergoing an ambitious transformation, driving innovation across services and investing in the city’s future. As part of this journey, we are partnering with Castlefield Recruitment to expand our finance team and seek 9 talented, motivated individuals to help shape the next chapter of our success.
The Assistant Accountant posts will work within a commercially focused team to provide financial advice and support across dedicated directorates and transformational projects across the Council.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the provision of high-quality, accurate, relevant and timely monitoring and forecasting information
- Supporting statutory reporting processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Providing analysis and financial advice to stakeholders
- Contributing towards the delivery of the Council’s statutory Statement of Accounts
- Assisting in driving improvements in the financial control environment, identifying and mitigating risks
The successful candidate:
- AAT Qualified Finance professional (or equivalent experience)
- Ability to positively contribute towards a value-adding finance function
- Desire to build and develop effective working relationships
