Castlefield Recruitment are currently recruiting a Senior Rent and Service Charge Officer for a regional housing association. Their Service Charge team is a new team and they are looking for an individual with extensive experience in both Service Charge and Housing management to help implement the new CX system, new policies and procedures, and also to consult residents and resolve complaints around Service Charge. The housing association is based in North Yorkshire; however, for the right person who can hit the ground running, they can offer flexible hybrid working with occasional visits to the office and patch. The position is an initial 12-month fixed-term contract, paying £37,547 per annum, with the chance of a permanent position at the end of the contract.

The role:

  • Responsible for the implementation of the new Service Charge CX system
  • Review and analyse current service charges to ensure accuracy and compliance with all relevant legislation
  • Develop and implement effective policies and processes for Service Charge management
  • Support the Rent and Service Charge Lead to deliver Rent and Service Charge projects across the business
  • Lead on the presentation of Service Charge accounts to residents, answering and owning any queries raised from this

The person:

  • Experience of working within a housing association service charge team
  • Knowledge of service charges and the fundamental regulations and legal requirements around service charges, particularly section 20 legislation
  • Experience being a customer facing, visible point of contact and building relationships with stakeholders
  • An in-depth understanding of Service Charge systems
