Castlefield is partnering with a market-leading medico-legal consultancy to recruit a Lead Psychologist Expert Witness. This role will lead, develop, and oversee a new psychology expert witness service. Our client is already well established in the medico-legal field and is now looking to launch a new psychology division. This position will be instrumental in driving the success of the new service and establishing a team to deliver expert witness services across the UK.

The role is part-time, primarily remote, with occasional meetings at the head office each year. A competitive salary is offered + Excellent Benefits Package.

The position combines strategic leadership, clinical expertise, and expert witness insight with service innovation to ensure the delivery of a high-quality expert witness service. The Quality Assurance & Training Lead for Psychology will have a clinical background and significant experience working as an expert witness in clinical negligence and personal injury cases. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality assurance, mentoring, and training to less experienced associates across all aspects of the expert witness role, with particular emphasis on ensuring that submitted reports meet the required standards.

The postholder will be responsible for the professional leadership and management of psychology expert witnesses across the following disciplines:

  • Clinical Psychologists
  • Counselling Psychologists
  • Neuropsychologists
  • Educational Psychologists
  • Forensic Psychologists

Key Requirements:

  • HCPC-registered Neuropsychologist or Clinical Psychologist
  • Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society
  • Minimum of 8 years’ post-qualification experience in the UK
  • Demonstrable recent experience (5+ years) in UK medico-legal reporting and court-compliant psychological assessments within clinical negligence and personal injury
  • Proven ability to train and lead a department or service
