Castlefield Recruitment are working with a housing association in Greater Manchester to recruit a Building Safety Manager. The salary for this position is GBP57,000 – GBP62,000, and office attendance is required approximately twice per week.
Role Purpose
Lead on building safety compliance, ensuring adherence to the Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Regulations. Oversee safety cases, regulatory submissions, inspections, and resident engagement for multiple high–rise buildings. Act as the organisation's duty holder and subject matter expert on building and fire safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage safety cases, risk assessments, and statutory reporting.
- Lead a small team delivering inspections, resident engagement, and compliance.
- Act as first point of contact for residents on safety concerns.
- Oversee contractor works, permit–to–work schemes, and supplier contracts.
- Stay up to date with legislation and represent the organisation at external meetings.
About You
- Degree/HND or significant experience in building/fire safety.
- Strong track record in compliance and risk management.
- Knowledge of building safety legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Skilled in inspections, investigations, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
- Flexible, collaborative, and able to travel when required.
