A well-established, employee-owned SME within the retail and technology solutions sector is seeking a Power BI Data Analyst to join their growing finance and leadership function. This is a pivotal role supporting the Senior Management Team with insight-led decision making across sales, performance, pricing, and commercial strategy. Working closely with the Group Head of Finance, Managing Director, and wider leadership team, you will play a key role in transforming data into meaningful business intelligence that drives growth and operational efficiency.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and insightful reporting across multiple areas of the business, with a strong focus on commercial performance and profitability. Key responsibilities include:
- Production and distribution of daily sales and gross profit reports, including margin analysis and variance investigation
- Gross profit interrogation and resolution of data discrepancies with relevant departments
- Month-end sales reconciliation and reporting accuracy checks
- Weekly performance reporting for retail operations
- Development and maintenance of scheduled management reporting, including:
- Monthly sales KPI dashboards across all brands
- Aged stock and inventory reporting
- Product-level sales and performance analysis
- Departmental KPI reporting
- Supporting annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Customer and prospect data segmentation to support sales strategy
- Competitor and market pricing analysis
- Price benchmarking across comparison platforms and product ranges
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests from senior stakeholders
- Development of targeted business development datasets for the sales team
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong analytical mindset and proven experience in a commercially focused data environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI (essential)
- Confident use of SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Highly numerate, ideally with a Maths, Statistics, or related analytical background (or equivalent experience)
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving SME environment
- Experience with Sage 200
- Background in commercial, sales, or finance analytics within a product-led business
