Castlebridge Hospitality is a privately owned hotel group with more than 30 years of experience in developing, owning, and operating both internationally branded and independent hotels across the UK and Europe. We manage every stage of the hotel lifecycle — from design and construction through to opening, operations, and long‑term performance. As a full‑service management company, we deliver comprehensive operational solutions that include robust systems, strong financial controls, and hands‑on leadership. Our focus is on creating exceptional guest experiences while maximising long‑term returns for our owners.

Our growing portfolio includes four IHG Hotel Indigo properties — Bath, Chester, Stratford‑upon‑Avon and Coventry — as well as the voco Winchester Hotel and Spa and the Courtyard by Marriott Keele. With a diverse collection of high‑performing hotels and an ambitious growth strategy, this is an exciting time to join Castlebridge Hospitality.

The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced People Professional to join our People & Culture Team, providing both remote and on‑site generalist support across our businesses. This role has a strong focus on employee relations (ER), ensuring all cases are managed in line with internal policies, legislation, and best practice guidelines.

You will play a key role in supporting the full employee lifecycle across our hotels and restaurants, partnering with on‑site management teams to deliver practical, solution‑focused HR guidance. You will advise on a wide range of ER matters including absence management, probation, AWOL, flexible working requests, investigations, disciplinary processes, misconduct, and TUPE.

Alongside ER case management, you will contribute to the wider People & Culture function, supporting initiatives that enhance the capability and performance of our workforce. This includes delivering training on internal policies and processes, helping to upskill line managers, and promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.

This role offers the opportunity to support a diverse, multi‑brand operation across the UK. You will need to be highly adaptable and place strong value on building effective working relationships with managers at all levels. Your ability to foster trust and maintain an open, supportive, and communicative environment will be key to your success.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing day‑to‑day HR advice and guidance to on‑site management teams, ensuring all support is compliant with current legislation and internal policies
  • Managing a high‑volume ER caseload, supporting both informal resolution and formal processes where required
  • Coaching and guiding managers on best practice approaches to employee relations issues
  • Supporting the development and delivery of L&D initiatives, including training managers on people processes and policies
  • Contributing to the smooth running of the employee lifecycle across multiple sites

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hands‑on HR professional who is equally comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team. You will have proven experience in a generalist HR role, with a strong emphasis on managing complex ER cases. Experience within the hospitality sector would be advantageous, although it is not essential.

  • Highly organised and analytical, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Confident in managing a busy ER caseload in a fast‑paced environment
  • A strong communicator, capable of building effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proactive and solutions‑focussed, with the ability to balance operational and strategic priorities
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications and system utilisation

A CIPD qualification is desirable; however, we value experience just as highly. If you have extensive experience managing ER cases within a generalist HR environment, we would be very interested in hearing from you.

All applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK. As part of the recruitment process, you will be asked to provide documented evidence of eligibility.

Benefits

  • Flexibility and a good work/life balance
  • Discounted hotel stays for you and your friends and family, so everyone can enjoy a break away
  • 50% off food & beverage when visiting our hotels
  • Free meals and drinks when you’re working
  • Apprenticeships and development training throughout your time with us so that you can keep moving forwards
  • Prioritised health and wellbeing initiatives
  • HSF healthcare cash plan, to help you and your family to cover the costs of everyday healthcare (prescriptions/dental appointments/etc)
